Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while transporting goods across various routes. This role requires a combination of mechanical knowledge and excellent communication skills to ensure timely deliveries and maintain the integrity of the cargo.
Responsibilities
* Operate lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
* Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
* Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items, particularly for flatbed deliveries.
* Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
* Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, clients, and management regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
* Perform basic maintenance on the vehicle as needed, utilising mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards throughout all operations.
Experience
* Proven experience in commercial driving is essential, with a valid HGV licence.
* Previous experience as a flatbed or van driver is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics will be an advantage.
* Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with team members and clients.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering exceptional service are key attributes for success in this role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.00-£17.02 per hour
