The role:
This person will work as a senior leader in the external communications team, owning the strategy, policies and commercial relationships for delivery and optimisation of the SJP Social Media activity, and online reputational sentiment including client reviews. They will lead a team of social media specialists and manage the relationship with specialist agencies, providing expertise and a consultative approach to identify clear opportunities for SJP to drive its social media presence and engagement. They will also collaborate with and leverage the Partnership network and monitor broader digital sentiment through review sites, making recommendations to positively impact SJP’s online reputation.
What you'll be doing:
* Work closely with the external communications team to create an integrated approach to building the SJP brand, amplifying thought leadership and other external communications. Work closely with the team to protect the brand and SJP reputation, managing issues as they arise. Provide oversight and guidance on social media to SJP locations globally.
* Work closely with marketing colleagues to ensure an integrated approach across all media channels including paid social and digital.
* Lead the messaging, optimization and associated compliance of corporate, leadership and Partner social media platforms.
* Management and responsibility for a team of social media specialists, including assigning responsibility for tasks and setting clear objectives, individual and team development.
* Define the policies and procedures for effective social media use in a compliant environment, ensuring fit for purpose and aligned with developments such as Consumer Duty.
* Set the targets and proactive management of client review platforms.
* Encourage innovative and creative approaches that drive high levels of engagement across social media presence to maximize ROI.
* Source industry leading technology to automate and improve compliance of social media management across the SJP Partnership.
* Set KPIs and goals against brand vision and reputational strategy and measure success.
* Manage the social media and digital reputation budget and ensure spend is optimized against business needs.
* Monitor and report to senior management competitor and reputation damaging activity across social and review platforms.
* Build a collaborative network with Financial Promotions, the Partnership, wider communications function, marketing function, and key external partners.
* Set standards for highly effective digital communications and promote best practice throughout the business, empowering stakeholders and teams with guidance and education.
Who we're looking for:
The ideal candidate will have previous significant experience of leading a high performing social or reputational team within a corporate (preferred) or agency environment. They will be experienced at defining social media strategy across a complex network of brands and have awareness of best practice for maximising ROI through social advertising networks. They will role model the FCA’s Principle 12 ‘A firm must act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers’ within the team and wider SJP business. They will be a confident leader who is comfortable owning and developing market leading social media policies and procedures.
* Proven experience of defining social media strategy across a complex network of brands.
* Previous experience of successfully managing a social media team.
* Expertise in utilising social media networks and platforms.
* Understanding of client review and endorsement process.
* Previous use of Trustpilot or similar.
* Understanding of SJP Partnership model and how social media can be best utilised across the network.
Special Requirements:
The role is a blend of office and home based, although travel to other locations and events is likely, with occasional requirement for overnight stay.
