A unique opportunity has become available as the Lead Nurse for staffing and workforce, at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. This role is key for the organisation - responsible and accountable to the deputy chief nurse.
We are looking for an exceptional, inspirational and dynamic senior nurse or midwife who can negotiate, problem solve, think strategically, and build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

As a key member of the nursing and quality team, you will contribute to the development of our nursing, midwifery and allied health professional's strategy.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the oversight, application and improvement of safe staffing across all nursing and midwifery clinical services within the organisation. This includes leading on the nursing establishment setting in line with the National Quality board every 6 months, daily review of staffing and patient acuity via SafeCare, and governance that contributes to safe and effective clinical care.
You will provide specialist advice and guidance around SNCT and Safe Care, including Trust-wide training and professional advice to the divisional directors of nursing, heads of nursing, matrons, and ward managers.

Education and qualifications
* Registration as a nurse or midwife with the NMC
* Degree in health-related subject
* Evidence of professional continuous development and portfolio of learning (NMC revalidation)
* Post registration Master's Degree or evidence of working towards
Experience
* Expert knowledge of RL Datix Rostering and SafeCare System
* Expert knowledge of Safe Staffing methodology and practices
* Computer literate with experience in database management, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
* Ability to deal with complex time-critical situations, working to deadlines and delivering targets
* Good working knowledge of clinical and quality governance, with particular knowledge of assurance and risk management.
* Experience of working in the NHS or a large, complex, fast-moving organisation
* Evidence of developing and presenting comprehensive reports
