Street Cleansing Operative – The Role:
We have a great opportunity for a Street Cleansing Operative to join our Operations team in Braintree, Essex.
Working primarily at the George Yard multi-storey car park in Braintree, your duties will include locking the premises, litter picking, bin emptying and sweeping and cleaning the lifts and stairwells. You will also carry out general street cleansing duties at other locations across the District.
This role is 20 hours per week, which will include weekend working. The working hours will be Sunday 12pm-5pm and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 2.30pm-7.30pm.
Street Cleansing Operative – You:
Please note, a full, clean driving licence, together with a 3.5 tonne licence, is essential for this role.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an outdoor environment and undertaking a range of manual tasks.
You will also have:
- Ability to work outdoors in all weathers together with the ability to walk, bend, kneel and stand for long periods of time and perform heavy lifting if needed.
- Ability to work weekends on a rota basis.
- A full clean driving licence, together with a 3.5 tonne licence, (essential), and 7.5 tonne licence, (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to work in a team or individual based environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to be involved in all aspects of the operation of the street scene service.
- Polite and helpful with the public at all times.
- Have an understanding of Health & Safety systems including manual handling and risk assessments and safe systems of work.
