Locum Consultant in Urology
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Locum Consultant in Urology, based at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The job role involves supporting a well established and collaborative department, focused on excellent, person-centred care. The post-holder will be involved in diagnostic and core urological activity. The department has a keen interest in developing further complimentary sub-specialist areas and the job role would enjoy support in training and development.
The Trust provides acute hospital services for approximately 800,000 people living in and around York, North Yorkshire, North East Yorkshire and Ryedale – an area covering 3,400 square miles. We manage ten hospital sites, 1,127 beds (including day cases) and have a workforce of over 8,000 staff working across our hospitals and in the community. Our main sites are in York and Scarborough.
Base hospital: York
Within the Trust we are part of Surgery Care Group, which includes most surgical specialties. We have a Clinical Director responsible for the all General Surgery, Urology, Vascular and Breast services across the Trust. We also have a Lead Clinician for Urology
The principle duty of this post is to provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients within the trust area.
• To, at all times, comply with the GMC requirements of Duties of a Doctor
• 2. To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• To undertake duties as defined within the attached job plan in so far as
practicable and in agreement with your clinical director.
• To be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of any Trust resources that you use and influence, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director.
• On commencement to ensure personal attendance at the Trust’s Corporate Induction.
• To participate in the Trust’s statutory and mandatory training programme
• To fully participate in the Consultant Peer Support Scheme and ensure personal attendance, when invited, at the Consultant Development Programme during your first year in post.
• To be responsible for the clinical management of in and out patients under your
care.
The Trust provides acute hospital services for approximately 800,000 people living in and around York, North Yorkshire, North East Yorkshire and Ryedale – an area covering 3,400 square miles. We manage ten hospital sites, 1,127 beds (including day cases) and have a workforce of over 8,000 staff working across our hospitals and in the community. Our main sites are in York and Scarborough, both of which have Emergency Department services and provide acute medical and surgical services, including trauma and intensive care service to the local population and visitors.
