About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the further development of our Dementia Care services as we look to support those people living in our homes and with dementia. At MMCG we are committed to continuously enhance the lifestyle of our residents, whilst ensuring that our teams are supported to enable them to deliver truly person-centred care.
We have introduced this role to support and upskill home teams to deliver exceptional care. This is a varied role, which will involve working directly with residents to meet both their physical and emotional needs; building relationships and finding commonalities to enhance the residents’ experience; working alongside colleagues to role model best practices, providing information, advice, and guidance where required.
You will report directly to your Home Manager, supported by our MMCG Dementia Development Lead, plus a wider network of Dementia Ambassadors across the organisation.
About you
Your experience of working to support people living with dementia is essential. You will need an understanding of the changes that dementia can have on a person’s abilities and needs; how to find strategies to best support them; and to support the team with making relevant changes to care planning.
You will need strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills and feel confident in supporting the team, delivering training workshops, and demonstrating how to put newfound knowledge and skills into practice.
A level 3 vocational qualification in Health and Social Care is preferred.
