The role of the Catering Assistant is to ensure prompt and efficient preparation and service of all meals and to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the catering areas to the required standard. With a strong emphasis on Health & Safety, you’ll be expected to ensure that the catering areas are kept clean and tidy and in collaboration with the Cook and Assistant Cook and ensure that our food service is delivered in a professional, friendly and hygienic manner. You will undertake tasks assigned to you regarding food preparation, cooking, cleaning, serving, and completion of Health and Safety paperwork. Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required. Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs insofar as they impact upon the support services to be provided including management of individual needs (health, social etc.) and challenging behaviours.
