We’re in search of a Java Developer who has worked in an enterprise microservices environment. The Java Developer will be based in Belfast and will be expected to work on a hybrid model and also on-site at our client's offices in Belfast City Centre (a large investment bank). This is a large 2-3 year project within the Markets Technology space, including Equities Tech, Fixed Income Tech, and Markets Ops Tech. Other featured areas will be Finance, Market and Credit Risk Tech. Key Responsibilities: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Java. Develop microservices-based applications and ensure high availability and performance. Utilize Kafka and Flink for real-time data processing. Implement and optimize SQL queries for effective data management. Manage and deploy applications using OpenShift, ECS, Docker, and Kubernetes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical support. Mentor and support junior developers, promoting best practices in software development. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong experience in Java development with a focus on microservices architecture. Proven experience with Kafka and Flink for data processing. Strong SQL skills for database management. Familiarity with Python is a plus. Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
