Site Manager
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in civils, earthworks, and drainage to oversee a critical construction project in Blackburn. The project involves replacing a retaining wall, installing a new Flex MSE wall (70m in length), taking down a section of the road, installing a new drainage run, resurfacing, timber post installation, and minor de-vegetation work. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil engineering and earthworks, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
* Review project plans and specifications to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
* Coordinate and supervise construction workers and subcontractors.
* Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report any issues.
* Manage the use of construction equipment and machinery.
* Resolve problems and implement improvements in construction processes.
* Maintain communication between project managers, site staff, and clients.
* Conduct quality and safety inspections regularly.
* Prepare and submit project estimates and budgets.
* Document and report progress to stakeholders and ensure compliance with regulations.
Specific Project Duties:
* Replace the existing retaining wall and install a new Flex MSE wall (70m in length).
* Take down a section of the road and install a new drainage run.
* Resurface the road and install timber posts.
* Perform minor de-vegetation work as required.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven work experience in construction management with a focus on civils, earthworks, and drainage.
* In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
* Familiarity with construction and project management software.
* Certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are advantageous.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve.
