What you'll be doing:
Delivering the teaching for the Level 2 and 3 Knowledge and Competence Qualification. (Theory and Practical subjects you will deliver depends on prior experience but could include but not limited to Mechanical Assembly and Maintenance, Hydraulic, Health & Safety, Engineering Principles, Maths and Science and Business Improvement Techniques)
Utilising technology to develop the theory and practical based lessons which meet the mandated qualifications of Level 2 and 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard
Coaching apprentices to reach their full potential by providing key support, mentoring, challenge and motivation throughout all aspects of their learning journey
Monitoring and providing developmental feedback to apprentices to assist in the identification of "readiness" for end point assessment
Taking professional pride in their role and embrace continuous professional development opportunities in support of delivering innovative and impactful teaching, learning and assessment
Developing apprentices that are innovative thinkers and creative problem solvers, through the design and delivery of learning content as part of a blended learning pedagogy focused on delivering vocational excellence
Assessing and monitoring learner progress & performance in line with the apprenticeship standards and the occupational expectations of the business. Maintain and record data in accordance with the awarding organisations and auditing bodiesYour skills and experiences:
Essential:
Experience of teaching academic/practical qualifications up to level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
Recognised industry qualification to enable teaching up to and including Level 3 - time served apprenticeship and mechanical engineering quals level 2 and above (BTEC, HNC or HND)
Skilled engineering professional with recognisable occupational competence within Mechanical EngineeringDesirable:
Industrial mechanical maritime experience
Training & Development qualifications NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Engineering Instructor (Mechanical) Team:
As a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer you will be required to deliver across our level 2 and level 3 early careers provision. You will facilitate outstanding teaching, learning and assessment practices that engage and inspire apprentices to fulfil their individual potential and develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours to successfully progress into the business.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to help shape the apprenticeship programme being based in the Naval Base. We invest £90m into our Early Careers and Skills Programmes annually, with over 2,000 Apprentice learners currently in the UK.
