We are looking for a Corporate Paralegal to join a busy team of three in Chester. We are a partner practice within the gunner cooke (GC) network. The practice consists of a corporate partner, a senior associate and a legal assistant/ office manager based on Chester Business Park. Work includes but is not limited to: Mergers and Acquisitions Private Equity Venture Capital Investments Employee share schemes Family investment companies Shareholder agreements Cross option agreements In the past two years we (as a partner practice based in Chester) the team have worked on £400m worth of transactions with clients all over the UK and beyond. The ideal candidate must be: local to the North West region and will be hardworking, organised, honest, commercially astute, polite, kind and creative. You must have strong academics, a 2.1 or above from a reputable university and either have an LPC at commendation or above. A genuine interest in corporate law and a strong desire to learn and develop is required. The ideal candidate will be looking for a long-term corporate role, as the intention is for a candidate to excel in the role, and (in due course) train and qualify as a corporate solicitor within the team. Role / responsibilities Initial responsibilities would include (but would not be limited to): assisting corporate lawyers with documentation on corporate transactions, including drafting, saving and amending documentation; assisting with general document management (including use of DocuSign and creation of digital documents bibles); Drafting ancillary documents in respect of corporate transactions; Managing legal due diligence exercises on corporate transactions; Managing disclosure exercises on corporate transactions; Companies House filing; Taking instructions from clients; Opening client files; Preparing client care and engagement letters; Preparing and sending out client invoices; and General admin, such as printing and scanning.
