Job summary We are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated nurse to work alongside a team of professionals dedicated to the delivery of HIV services. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that delivers the highest standards of care to this group of patients both in and out of a hospital setting. The purpose of this role is to act as a professional resource to people with HIV, their families and carers and other health care professionals. The successful candidate will be a registered adult nurse, with extensive post registration and extensive experience caring for patients with chronic illness. The candidate must have knowledge and understanding of HIV issues, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly motivated, a team player and demonstrate strong leadership skills. The post requires a high degree of autonomous working as well as working with external agencies and within the multi-disciplinary team. Main duties of the job Support nurse led and nurse delivered clinic activity. Provide education and support to patients and the wider MDT for both in patient and non inpatients. Take part in MDT meetings to manage patient care. To work within a multi-disciplinary team in the development and delivery of the highest level of clinical practice within the HIV Service. To work in partnership with the MDT to meet the national and local agendas for HIV. To act as a source of expertise and knowledge to patients, carers and health care professionals. To actively contribute to the delivery of seamless, multidisciplinary care to patients with HIV.
