Optical Design Engineer Duties: Concept Generation – Develop innovative optical concepts for new product ideas. Optical Modelling & Tolerancing – Use industry-standard software to model and tolerance optical designs. Prototype Development – Collaborate with suppliers and in-house teams to create and test optical prototypes. Experimental Testing – Evaluate optical performance in lab and dark room environments. Collaboration – Provide optical expertise to assist the design team and support the NPI process. Research & Development – Stay up to date with the latest advancements in optical technology. What We’re Looking For: Extensive experience in the research and design of optical, optomechanical, or video-based products. Strong background in optical engineering with relevant experience in industrial, consumer, or laboratory optical products. Proficiency in Optical Design Systems such as Zemax and/or 3D CAD software (ideally PTC Creo). Familiarity with scientific software like Matlab and Mathcad is a plus. Degree in Physics, Optical Engineering, or related discipline (higher degree preferred). Working knowledge of optical manufacturing processes. At least 8 years’ experience in a relevant field.
