We are looking for either an enthusiastic and experienced Food Safety Officer/Environmental Health Officer to join our team based in Boston, Lincolnshire.
Food Health and Safety Officer- Grade 5- £31,647 - £35,777 per annum
Environmental Health Officer- Grade 6- £37,293 - £41,173 per annum
Boston is a diverse Borough, known for its inland port and bustling market. This presents Food Officers with a range of opportunities from inspections and sampling to providing business advice and issuing export certificates.
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual with a demonstrable commitment to top quality regulatory services.
Your role will predominantly be in food hygiene, with some health and safety work such as accident investigation and some Port Health Authority duties for example, ship sanitation inspections. Quayside inspections of Boston’s fishing fleet and the ability to certify exports of shellfish from a port-based canning factory will form part of your work during the cockle harvesting and shrimping seasons. Full training to become a Food Competent Certifying Officer will be given.
As a Food Safety/Environmental Health Officer you will:
Have experience of carrying out food safety official controls in a local authority environment.
Hold the baseline qualification: Higher Certificate in Food Control or equivalent or a degree in Environmental Health.
Manage a varied workload including inspections, investigations, and business advice.
Have the knowledge and skills to take enforcement action where appropriate.
Work as part of a wider team who are committed to providing excellent services for their residents.
Have a full UK driving licence.- is it worth adding the role can work remotely as well as on site for site inspections?
