Business Development Manager
Permanent Position
Excellent salary/package (Holiday: 25 days + 8 Statutory Days, 10% Pension, Bonus scheme)
Location: Loughborough
My client is a global aerospace manufacturing business, based in Loughborough. The Business Development Manager provides significant business development expertise in sourcing, targeting, and winning new business by identifying and building solid, high-level relationships with existing and potential new customers. This role manages the entire sales cycle to ensure revenue is in line with organizational and individual targets.
Responsibilities
* Research and develop a detailed understanding of the competitive landscape and customer requirements, ensuring all sales opportunities are fully explored and captured.
* Build, manage, and maintain a substantial pipeline of potential sales, ensuring all pipeline activity is accurately documented. Build business cases for targeted elements of the pipeline and develop win strategies.
* Win sales and orders, obtain new contracts, and meet (and exceed) sales targets and profit and growth objectives.
* Manage bids for new work, including both technical and business content, and make pricing recommendations.
* Create, prepare, and deliver professional responses to tenders and requests for proposals, presentations, contracts, and other documentation in a timely manner.
* Lead and coordinate negotiations with customers.
* Work closely with Program Management and Customer Services to ensure effective handover from sales to day-to-day account management.
* Develop and produce quarterly and annual sales/orders reports, key performance indicators, and communicate within the business. Compose and distribute minutes of meetings to coordinate and progress sales activities.
Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications
* Well-versed in a similar Business Development Manager role.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience selling technical products to aerospace customers.
* Experience in drafting bids/tenders.
* Service-driven ethic, enthusiastic, and curious.
