Governor Vacancy Ref: 001 We would be delighted to receive applications for the role of Governor Time commitment: 1.5 day per month on average We currently have a vacancy for an individual able to provide vision and strategic leadership to the Group as a member of its Board of Governors. Specifically, we are looking for a person with a leadership role in business in the Castleford, Wakefield and Selby districts to contribute their skills and experience to our Group to help us achieve our vision “To be an outstanding, first-choice education group, passionately serving all of our communities.” While we are looking for a person with a leadership role in business to fill our current vacancy, we would also welcome applications from anyone who thinks they could make a positive contribution to our Board which we will retain should a suitable future vacancy arise. Being a Governor is a voluntary role, unpaid but highly rewarding, and this is a particularly exciting time to be involved with the Group. We have a challenging agenda including: To further improve the quality of teaching and learning at the Group, with the aim of giving our students better outcomes, be that in continuing their education at the Group or at university, or in gaining employment; To understand the needs of employers, to help local businesses grow and contribute to economic prosperity in our districts; To form strategic partnerships within our districts to help shape key initiatives; To form strong relationships with our districts’ schools and, where appropriate, work with them in the provision of education; and To develop sustainability within the Group and our communities.
