Empowering Learning are looking for a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist and bespoke SEND school situated in Chesterfield. Experience working in a school setting and experience with SEND pupils is favourable. Experience within the sector with transferable skills may also be considered. Own car and driving is essential for the role.
Required Experience:
1. Have experience working with young people
2. Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
3. Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children
4. Have an interest in supporting young people with a variety of SEND
5. Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable not essential)
6. Be able to supply the school with teaching references
7. Be a part of the school team taking part in the wider school environment
8. Have an understanding of behavioural management
Main Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the class teacher and other teaching assistants in the day-to-day running of the class
2. Supporting children during lessons/school activities
3. Supporting staff/children during lunch and break times
4. Managing pupils' personalised learning based on their individual needs
5. Delivering 1:1 or small group activities
6. Collecting evidence of children's work to support their assessment
7. Providing physical management and care of pupils
