Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Rail Systems Engineering team. You will work within Telent's division dedicated to maintaining the UK rail network, serving clients such as Transport for London, Network Rail, and Train Operating Companies.
Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering project upgrades mainly across Network Rail, TFL, TFGM infrastructure. Your role includes technical project management, survey, design, and technical aspects of SISS within a rail environment.
Typical Deliverables:
* Design, survey, and technical engineering experience within SISS.
* Lead in developing new product ideas and creating detailed technical plans.
* Manage projects from initial design to installation.
* Create technical drawings and mathematical solutions for real-world problems.
* Select appropriate materials and forecast project costs.
* Complete technical and regulatory documentation.
* Ensure quality control and oversee product/system deployment.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of engineering discipline and related fields.
* Coordinate testing of products, systems, software, or infrastructure.
* Ensure project delivery within time and budget.
* Develop personal engineering skills and solve complex problems.
* Work independently and potentially lead project steps or mentor colleagues.
* Comply with QEHS requirements.
Skill Requirements:
* Previous technical SISS experience, engineering, design, and survey skills.
* Relevant licenses/certifications for the discipline.
* Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other CAD software.
* Good communication skills and stakeholder management.
* Problem-solving passion and analytical skills.
