Purpose of the role The responsibilities encompass carrying out plant maintenance at both KGV and Bellshill locations, ensuring the upkeep and efficient functioning of the facilities. Additionally, the role involves the crucial tasks of unloading ships and handling the loading and unloading operations of trucks. These duties contribute to the overall operational efficiency and maintenance of the designated sites, supporting smooth logistics and facility management. Key Accountabilities Responsible for: Working at aggregate and concrete sites in the North Covering holidays to minimise the use of contractors Main Duties: Cover for holidays and sickness at aggregate and concrete sites to minimise the use of contractors Undertake site inspections Assist in supervising contractors Assist in maintaining site IMS and ensure IMS procedure are followed and maintained Assist carry out maintenance of all production equipment as directed by a Supervisor Keep the Works in a clean condition and to a high environmental standard. Operate mobile plant and assisting with production. Assist with other works duties including weighbridge operations Assist with any other duties as required by the Supervisory and Management teams. Knowledge and skills To work within the Health and Safety framework on site ensuring that isolations, permits and risk assessments are carried out for all work undertaken by you Ability to operate mobile plant and raw material conveyor systems. Basic process knowledge required. Ability to carry out basic maintenance operations, weighbridge duties, and stores control. Ability to test material moisture, sample materials correctly and batch and dispatch samples for central laboratory testing Ability to load lorries and maintain the loading system and induct drivers in loading operations. Authority for decisions in respect of: Cleaning duties and basic maintenance Preventative maintenance. Basic breakdown maintenance.
