1. ROLE SUMMARY
To support Service Users in maintaining or developing everyday living skills.
Promote choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment, and rights.
Assist Service Users in accessing community facilities (e.g. shops, places of worship, leisure).
Provide personal care and supervision based on individual needs.
Tasks may include personal care, domestic/practical duties, and support work.
2. JOB SPECIFICATION
Assist with daily activities as directed by senior staff or as part of care plans.
Support personal care needs (eating, toileting, bathing, dressing, incontinence, medication monitoring, shopping, and household tasks).
Use a person-centred approach to support clients' physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
Maintain professional relationships with clients, their families, and stakeholders.
Support colleagues and provide cover during absences.
Follow all MGM Healthcare policies and regulatory requirements.
Social duties include cooking, cleaning, shopping, bill payments, and similar tasks.
Enable independence by supervising, coaching, or accompanying clients to appointments, outings, or events.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and professionals.
Keep accurate records, report changes in condition, and assist with documentation.
Support a team approach to care delivery.
Respect each client's culture, background, and identity.
Work with unpaid carers (family or friends) when needed.
Promote dignity, privacy, and anti-discriminatory practice.
Act to prevent neglect or abuse.

1) Education/Knowledge – Essential
General education, literacy, and numeracy skills needed for record-keeping.

Prior experience in care (paid/voluntary) or caring for family members.

Work both independently and in teams, often in users’ homes.
