Responsibilities
The role
Our Life Safety and Security engineering team is at the heart of our business. Multi-skilled across multiple technologies and product ranges, our engineers possess a wide range of knowledge built up over many years. Customer service oriented and driven to deliver the very best levels of engineering, our engineers take pride in their daily work.
This role will include a programme of mentored training and development to assist the individual as required, but also with a view to future progression and succession planning.
Responsibilities
1. Install, commission, and service our wide range of field equipment including Fire and Intruder Alarm systems, CCTV, Access Control, Audio Visual, Public Address & Voice Alarm systems.
2. Retrofit upgrades/extensions to existing systems as part of remedial works packages.
3. Provide high levels of customer service.
4. Understand site plans to allow installs to take place based on site survey documentation.
5. Reactive call outs to site, with an aim to provide a first-time fix.
6. Provide on-site technical support and solutions to customers during both reactive and planned visits.
7. Complete documentation in line with company standards.
8. Work within strict H&S guidelines.
9. Work as part of a 24/7 on-call rota.
10. Advise customers on the latest products and services to improve efficiency.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
Experience:
1. Capability of lone-working and as part of a team.
2. Good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
3. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Flexible and self-motivated.
5. Full UK driving licence.
6. DBS clearance (for working in public sector environments).
Skills:
1. Good people management skills.
2. Technical expertise in predominant skillset area.
3. Competent admin skills with sound working knowledge of internal business systems.
4. Sound commercial awareness, knowledge of design and pricing of systems and upgrades.
5. Service oriented, but can interchange on install-related tasks when required.
6. Good verbal communicator.
7. Excellent team player and relationship builder.
8. Previous employment within a BAFE/SSAIB/NSI accredited company.
9. Valid CSCS/ECS Card.
10. IPAF/PASMA/Asbestos Awareness certification.
11. Recent/current electrical qualifications.
12. Knowledge of industry standard manufacturers preferred (Bosch, Dahua, Hikvision, Gent, Advanced, Gallagher, PAC, Win-Pak, Veracity, Milestone).
13. Preference given to candidates with proven Gallagher Access Control skills and knowledge.
