As a fully skilled Maintenance Technician, you will be based at our Liverpool site, to undertake proactive and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure maximum uptime of assets. You will be working on heavy static plant such as shears, balers, shredders, conveyor systems, metal sorting equipment, mobile plant and other relevant equipment used within the metal recycling industry. Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on a variety of plant and apparatus Complying with all machine operating systems Completing and maintaining all documentation on CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) Making written and/or verbal reports to line managers Attending progress meetings with line managers Complying with company policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Manual and the post holder's terms of employment To make written and/or verbal reports to line managers as required To attend progress meetings with line managers as and when required Reviewing risk assessments and method statements where applicable and raising work permits Inspecting work areas and equipment for deficiencies, hazards and malfunctions, and reporting all discrepancies and unsafe acts or working conditions to the Maintenance Team Leader, working together to investigate and resolve them quickly Inspecting work areas and equipment for deficiencies, hazards and malfunctions, and reporting all discrepancies and unsafe acts or working conditions to the Maintenance Team Leader, working together to investigate and resolve them quickly Carrying out any additional duties that may be requested from time to time Key Competencies: The ability to work part of a team and assist colleagues and other departments The ability to work on own initiative Excellent time management and organisational skills Excellent time keeping and attendance A flexibility approach including the willingness to work outside normal hours as and when required The ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines An analytical, problem solving approach Essential Skills: Proven track record of working in a comparable role ONC level qualifications or equivalent NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant subject Knowledge and experience of statutory vehicle inspection requirements IT Literate with the ability to use a range of packages applicable to the role, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (emails) Full UK driving licence Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Desirable Skills HNC qualifications in a relevant subject area Capable of the diagnosis of component level hydraulic faults Ability to operate basic machine shop machinery : lathes, milling machines etc Working knowledge of 3-phase electrics Related experience in metal recycling and/or other associated processes Hours: 43.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 07:45 - 17:00 ADZN1_UKTJ
