Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller who is ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role within our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. They should be detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of making informed decisions that will contribute to the financial health of Reliance Medical Group.
The successful candidate will already have several years of valuable experience behind them and is highly proficient in accounting technical standards and tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversight over all day-to-day accounting operations across several entities, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
* With the assistance of the management accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of budget and financial forecasts, and management information.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations, recording, filing, and reporting transactions properly.
* Documenting business processes and accounting policies, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring financial systems are fit for purpose.
* Supervising and managing financial department staff, overseeing the audit process, and liaising with external personnel.
* Supporting the business with financial strategy through working closely with the CFO.
Qualifications and Experience:
* ACA or ACCA fully qualified. Equivalent level qualifications will be considered.
* Several years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
* A professional understanding of UK GAAP. A knowledge of IFRS is also desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
* Strong leadership capabilities to lead a team effectively.
* Excellent communication skills to articulate complex financial information to various stakeholders.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills to analyse financial data, identify trends, and solve problems efficiently.
* Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulations.
* Very strong proficiency in financial software, including experience with accounting software and financial management systems. Experience in SAP Business One is highly desirable.
* Strong business acumen to understand the broader business context and how financial decisions impact the organisation.
* Adaptability to changing financial regulations and business environments.
* Decision-making skills to make informed decisions that contribute to the financial health of the organisation.
