Role Overview: As a Science Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring the next generation of scientists, delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to teach A-level Science, depending on experience and departmental needs. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and early-career teachers looking to further develop their teaching practice within a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Learning: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons that meet the needs of a diverse student body. Ensure lessons are interactive, stimulating, and designed to foster a love of Science. Assessment & Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through a variety of methods (including quizzes, practical assessments, and written tasks) and provide constructive feedback to help students improve and achieve their full potential. Classroom Management: Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages students to take responsibility for their learning. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Science curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with national standards. Support & Mentorship: Provide support to students with varying abilities, identifying individual learning needs and providing appropriate interventions where necessary. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow Science teachers and other school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational experience for students. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development, including school-based training and external opportunities, to enhance your teaching practice.Key Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science). Proven experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Experience with A-level teaching is an advantage but not essential. A genuine passion for Science and a strong desire to inspire and motivate students. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students. Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up-to-date with developments in Science education. Must have a right to work in the UK! Must be available for September 2025.
