My client in the West Midlands is looking to appoint an Interim Head of Building Safety & Compliance for an initial 3-month period whilst they recruit to the role permanently.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the Council is fully complaint in all aspects of assessment, inspection and reporting in relation to Fire, Structural & Building Safety.
Building Safety also encompasses compliance (the big 6) electrical installations, gas installations, asbestos, lifts and lifting equipment, water hygiene and HHSRS as detailed in the Housing Act. Ensuring the authority is compliant with all regulatory requirements.
To ensure the council is compliant in terms of:
Fire, Structure, and Building Safety and as a minimum meets the requirements of the Housing Act, Building Safety Act, all associated H&S legislation and guidance.
Liaising with the Building Safety Regulator, Regulator of Social Housing, Fire and Rescue Services and other enforcement bodies as required.
Given that the client is looking to recruit to the above role permanently. It is essential that the appointed person is a "people" manager, with the view to give guidance and support to a team that has seen some instability.
Contract Length: 3-6 Months (recruiting permanently).
Rate: Negotiable DOE.
IR35 Status: Inside IR35 (Strictly).
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days on site.
