Job summary
We are lookingfor an enthusiastic and hardworking salaried GP to complement our team of GPsand staff. Ideally we are looking to cover 4-6 clinical sessions which will include extended hours. The post-holder willmanage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary caresetting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered andtemporary patients.
Main duties of the job
As a salaried GP your main duties and responsibilities will be:-
The following are the core responsibilities of the General Practitioner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels
1. Perform clinical examinations of patients to assess, diagnose and monitor conditions
2. Cover On call
3. Carry out patient consultations within the surgery
4. Monitor patients' conditions and wellbeing
5. Carry out home visits where necessary
6. Diagnose and treat various illnesses/ailments
7. Liaise with other healthcare professionals (, midwives, pharmacists, health visitors and psychiatrists) as part of multidisciplinary teams#
8. All general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
About us
We are based in Brierley Hill Health And Social Care Centre in the heart of Brierley Hill, Dudley. We have a practice size of 9056 practice team includes 4 GP partners, 1 Nurses, 1 HCA, 2 PA's, 1 Midwife, 1 First Contact Physio and highly trained admin and reception teams. We have an additional clinical team that are working within the practice as part of the primary care network. This includes Listening and Guidance, Podiatrist, Dietician, Pharmacists, Mental Health Nurse.
We support the training of medical students from all clinical have excellent relations with our neighbouring practices and are part of a 7 Practice successful Primary Care Network.

Clinicalresponsibilities:
Inaccordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will makethemselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgeryconsultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home,checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperworkand correspondence in a timely fashion
Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
Assessingthe health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosedproblems
Screeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Developingcare plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with currentpractice disease management protocols
Providingcounselling and health education
Admittingor discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other careproviders as appropriate
Recordingclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Collectingdata for audit purposes
Compilingand issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoidinghand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribingin accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) wheneverthis is clinically appropriate
Ingeneral, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal dutiesand responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
