We have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team working on our Greater Manchester Police maintenance contract at Eccles police station and covering various police stations across Greater Manchester as required. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, plus participation in the on call rota.
Key activities:
1. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager
2. To undertake any allocated jobs as directed by Maintenance Manager, in line with requests sent via PDA/mobile devices
3. To respond promptly and efficiently to breakdowns and ensure all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner
4. To carry out general duties including support by manual labour for relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms.
5. Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the estate
6. Responsible for ensuring cleaning materials and chemicals are available at all sites
7. Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self-development purposes.
8. Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break plus participation in the on call rota (1 in 5 which includes weekends).
Skills, qualifications & experience:
1. Experience in a maintenance role and of PPM completion is desirable
2. Good customer care and people skills
3. Ability to work well in a team or unsupervised
4. Basic fabric handyperson skills
5. Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
6. Must have a full valid UK driving licence due to requirement to travel between sites across Greater Manchester
7. Requirement to achieve and retain relevant vetting clearance required by the client
