The Lifeways Group in Carlisle, Cumbria is currently looking to expand their fantastic team of Support Workers in our local residential services.
Harraby Croft apartments offer the ideal mixture of independent and shared living space. In these apartments, people can benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, while having peace and quiet when they need it too.
There are fourteen one-bedroom apartments, each with an open-plan kitchen and living room, and a wet room-style bathroom. Harraby Croft also has an accessible garden with a BBQ for people to spend time outdoors when the weather is good.
You’ll either be an enthusiastic person with plenty of patience looking for a career change to bring new life and experiences into our service.
You’ll get a fully paid induction with ongoing training and support from a dedicated Manager, plus the opportunity to undertake a qualification in health and social care funded by Lifeways Group, plus so much more when you join.
We work within the principles of person-centred support, enabling development and inclusion in their everyday lives within their home and wider community. Each service user has their own self-contained room within the service buildings, and your work will be varied as you’ll be supporting with all sorts of activities including swimming, shopping, going for a coffee, going to the cinema, visiting museums, and clubs.
You’ll be supporting the service user with general household chores such as cooking, laundry, vacuuming, and dusting, and in some cases personal care (assisting with bathing, toileting, and feeding).
CONTRACTS AVAILABLE
1. Full time - 37.5 hours per week
2. Part-time - 14 – 30 hours per week
3. Sessional/bank hours also available (flexible working to fit around you)
Working hours are on a shift pattern rota basis including some weekend working.
