Main duties of the job
The post-holderwill deal with a wide range of health needs in a primarycare setting.
Clinicalresponsibilities:
As agreed, thepost-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties,including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking/signing repeat prescriptions and dealing withqueries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers within theorganisation
Screeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Developing careplans for health in consultation with patients and in line with currentpractice disease management protocols
Recording clearand contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Compiling andissuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
In general, thepost-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
1. Qualified GP
2. MRCGP
3. Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
4. General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
5. Full GMC registration
6. National Performers List registration
7. Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
8. Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
