The Business Manager role has been created to support the work of the professional Nurses and Midwives and will play a key role in the delivery of a wide range of workstreams, local and national objectives as well as our Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan 2023-2028. This plan sets our vison and five key ambitions to be delivered over coming years. It describes the key deliverables necessary to build the foundations that will support and empower nurses and midwives to shape a sustainable future and drive improvements in best practice within our own professional community and for the communities we serve.

The Business Manager post will join the Corporate Nursing Senior leadership group, supporting me and my team of Nurse Directors across their diverse portfolios, monitoring action plans, keeping projects on track and ensuring that all the key performance milestones are being met. The Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan is based on the principle that everyone is a leader, from our healthcare support workers who lead patients through their care journey to Nursing and Midwifery Directors leading communities of practice and multiple teams. This plan underpins our ambitions for NHS Lothian to become a great place to work and a great place to be cared for!
