Senior Process Engineer – Fermentation Location: Nottingham / East Midlands, UK ⏳ Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive Contract: Permanent The Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to manage fermentation and bioreactor scale-up strategies. The ideal candidate should be an expert in engineering and bioreactor scalability, with previous experience in bioreactor design work. Candidates must have fermentation experience, ideally fungal fermentation. Key Responsibilities Lead bioreactor design optimisation and adaptation, focusing on scaling up a patent-pending fermentation process. Design pilot and commercial production facilities. Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimise waste, and increase efficiency. Monitor and analyse process performance metrics (yield, productivity, titer) and develop strategies to meet/exceed targets. Establish strategic partnerships to support company goals and manage existing R&D partnerships (CMOs, R&D partners, etc.). Oversee and execute key experiments at lab and pilot scale.
