About the Department:
In the Design Quality team, we organise data, documentation and own many processes which are key to supporting the engineers within Vehicle Design. For example, we help check and approve design releases. And we refine processes. We also work with Production Operations to improve processes.
Role Overview:
As a Design Quality Industrial Placement student, you’ll play a critical role in the Vehicle Design department, focusing on data control, document management, and process improvement. This role offers the opportunity to learn how the processes and systems of the design office work and how we exchange data and information with our operations colleagues.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Design Quality at Williams, you will:
* Organise and manage data, information, and documentation within the Vehicle Design department.
* Validate design releases in our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system to ensure accuracy and consistency.
* Investigate and implement process improvements between the design office and operations departments to enhance efficiency and collaboration.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience with technical computing software, SharePoint, and Microsoft programs is beneficial for this role, especially if you enjoy working with these tools.
* Core competencies required include strong communication skills, logical thinking, and attention to detail.
* A background in an engineering discipline is essential, with an understanding of engineering parts.
* Hands-on experience in designing, making, or modifying engineering components, or in installing or maintaining them, is highly valued.
