National Express are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Supervisor (Nights), based at our location in Bournemouth. The successful candidate will support the operations Shift Leader to proactively supervise and manage the driving team, and support the development and delivery of a planned service, ensuring compliance at all times with group values and expectations, legislative and health & safety requirements, whilst ensuring a safe supportive positive working environment, and a service that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations.
What you'll do:
1. Be the first point of contact and interface for customers, Drivers, services and other road users for the Groups fleet operation
2. Ensure that the required services are correctly delivered as booked and/or contracted on a job by job basis and contractual Service Level Agreements are met
3. Supervise workloads, schedules, tasks and other related Transport functions. Maintain and manage all databases relating to transportation activities
4. Review and Maintain the Operations Supervisor Handover Logs daily throughout each shift and action as required ensuring that there is a clear, concise and complete handover at the start and end of each shift ensuring that there is continuity of service and a full understanding of prevailing operating conditions, issues and requirements
5. In the event of service interruption take steps to ensure that customers are minimally inconvenienced and are kept informed with developments, plans and timescales
6. Notify Operations Manager of any change or disruption to the planned contractual service that constitutes a contract infringement
7. Take the lead in resolving unforeseen challenges as they arise ensuring the appropriate resolution to these is delivered and communicated to the Operational Management team
8. Ensure the Driver despatching process is delivered seamlessly, ensuring vehicles and drivers are in the right place at the right time for our customers
9. Releasing the drivers work portal and provide all supporting information at the time the drivers sign on where required, re-release amended work and supporting paperwork for the drivers
10. Ensure that fully completed Tour Packs are provided to drivers as the duty requires when they sign on
11. Have a detailed working knowledge of the content and sources of information for Tour Files to be able to support delivery of/make necessary changes to the planned itinerary to ensure service delivery
12. Ensure Driver Daily Walk Round Checks and Pre-Use Reports via the app are completion Prior to departing the yard at the beginning of each duty
13. Provide feedback to Operations Manager on factors, individual or collective, impacting driver performance
14. Ensure that all driver Tachograph records are downloaded/scanned and analysed daily at the end of each duty if required
15. Log all defects to VMS at the time of notification and liaise with Engineering to determine resolution process
16. Administer efficient and customer focused Lost Property procedures in accordance with Group Operations Policy
17. Ensure uncompromised standards for service and passenger safety are delivered
What you'll need:
1. ILM awards Level 2 – Team Leading
2. Level 2 NVQ Passenger Transport Operations
3. Experience in EU & Domestic Hours, plus competence in relevant systems (Grampian, Ecolane, 365 Response)
4. PCV license and Enhanced DBS check
5. First Aid, IOSH trained and Fire Warden trained
6. Willingness to work towards ILM 3 – Effective Management
