The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, our client, are looking for an experienced EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Engineer to support their programmes throughout their product lifecycles from concept through to disposal. Most of the work is establishing, progressing, and delivering the risk reduction and qualification strategies that will bring a product into service. The EMC Engineer writes documentation, reviews hardware, and conducts hands-on reviews and informal testing. The EMC Project Team supports Bristol and Stevenage projects for correct requirements, robust designs, and testing at the EMC Laboratories in Bristol. Key Responsibilities: EMC engineers are responsible for managing the milestones and deliverables related to EMC Engineering activities. They act as focal points and specialists for EMC requirements for our client's project teams. The role involves writing Environmental Requirement Specifications (ERS) and other related documents such as EMC Control Plans, Proving Plans, Proving Requirements, and Proving Instructions to support product development and qualification. Our client's EMC engineers oversee EMC qualification testing to ensure that the evidence is suitable for our customers. They work across functional and international boundaries to resolve sophisticated technical problems using analytical tools. The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) department is unique within our client's organization. It has a test team working hands-on in the state-of-the-art EMC facility to simulate environments, and a highly skilled project consultancy team embedded across all projects to ensure good EMC practice and design. What do you need?: Individuals with a higher education degree or significant experience in electronics, electrical engineering, physics, EMC, or related areas are preferred. Good Understanding of EMC and design principles. Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work to defined deadlines and within budget limits. Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving skills. Professional manner and adaptability when the companies' needs are evolving. Capable of working autonomously to meet the delivery needs of the company. Desirable Knowing how to apply military EMC standards to different levels of systems or equipment is desirable. Such standards include Defence Standard 59-41 / 59-411, AECTP500, Mil-Std-461, RTCA DO160 / EUROCAE ED-14. Engineers with previous experience in delivering support around the subject of electromagnetic compatibility. What happens now?
