My client is a civil engineering contractor working on a significant infrastructure scheme in West Sussex. Due to growth in turnover and projects, they are looking for a civils-based Project Manager to join their business. They have an excellent reputation in their market not only for their completed projects but also for staff satisfaction and retention levels.
As the Project Manager, you will be running a large, complex, and interesting scheme in West Sussex, with a full site team. Ideally, you will have worked on large infrastructure projects, e.g., roads, tunnels, earthworks projects previously and be comfortable working on a large scheme as the Project Manager.
The successful applicant will report into the Senior Management Team and be responsible for managing the site team on the project as well as ensuring profitability of the scheme and completion dates are adhered to. Further duties include:
1. Financial control of contracts
2. Managing and monitoring sub-contractors
3. Placing sub-contracts
4. Liaison with the client's representatives
5. Identifying resource needs for the project
6. Programming and planning of the project
7. Overseeing design and finding solutions to issues
8. Implementation of company safety, health, and environmental policies
Candidate Requirements
1. Ideally will hold a Civil Engineering or related Degree or HNC
2. Be able to display previous experience in a similar role
3. Computer literate
4. Proven track record using cost management systems
5. Demonstrate good document control, record keeping, and reporting skills
6. Established project planning and organisational capabilities
7. Hold a valid full UK driving licence
