Project Planner | Hybrid | £59,000 With Excellent Benefits The Opportunity After securing a £500 million train order, a global Rail leader of turnkey solutions, rail transportation and technology within Rolling Stock, has an essential requirement for a Project Planner on a permanent basis. You will play an instrumental roll in the planning for crucial milestones, taking ownership of the project plan, and holding the business accountable to it. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules that detail tasks, milestones, and deadlines. Work closely with the Programme Manager, Project Managers, and delivery function leads to establish and maintain contract delivery programmes and plans as required to satisfy our contractual obligations Manage any adjustments to the project scope, schedule, and budget using proven verification methods. Liaise with PMs to manage the provision of appropriate resources and expertise to successfully deliver the project control activities. Collaborate with functional planners, on-site teams and other relevant professionals to complete turnaround reports and returns. Support the development, integration and optimisation of project programmes Support robust monthly project updates, project risk registers and project processes. Regularly assess project performance, focusing on both short-term achievements and long-term outcomes. Utilise sophisticated systems and techniques to measure project performance accurately. Maintain thorough and up-to-date project documentation. The Candidate: Strong planning experience Highly competent with P6 (Primavera) software. Spreadsheet / O365 / Sharepoint capable Able to work on own initiative Location Newton Aycliffe (3 times a week), with occasional travel to London.
