The Decontamination Department at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust are looking to recruit a new team member.
This is a full-time position open to drivers with a full clean driving licence (C1) and over the age of 25 (for insurance purposes).
Based at Pinderfields hospital you will be responsible for deliveries, collections and the transportation of specialist goods and equipment within the local area. In addition to this you will also have portering duties and be responsible for varied stock control and sterile cleaning within the department.
The transportation of these materials requires the successful applicant to obtain their (CPC) Certificate of Professional Competence and the ADR Diploma, both of which will be completed once in post at the Trust.
Working 37.5 hours each week on a 6 week rolling rota working 1 Saturday in those 6 weeks.
Main duties of the job
* To drive a range of Trust vehicles in a safe and responsible manner adhering to all traffic and other legal regulations.
* Work within Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations as well as Trust Transport procedures.
* Carry out any scheduled duties adhering strictly to the written schedules, all working procedures, quality systems and departmental and Trust policies.
* To collect and deliver sterile and used equipment between Theatres, Wards and Departments and the Decontamination Services Department according to the Driver Schedule.
* Deliver urgent products to Theatres/Departments at the specific direction of the Supervisor/Manager.
* Collect and deliver mattresses / beds from central location to various delivery points.
* Collect daily departments stock order, enter onto computer, produce picking list, assemble order, deliver and put away. Report any shortages verbally and on written communication sheet.
* Pick and collect the top up items manufactured by the Decontamination department and deliver to the relevant wards / departments.
* The daily cleaning and disinfection of the Units van.
* Inspect product for expiry date and condition in accordance with department policy. Load buggies with sterilised equipment/tray. Deliver to correct location.
* The post holder will be expected to participate in rostered bank holiday work and cover shifts as necessary for the provision of the service.

* The post holder will be expected to participate in rostered Bank Holiday work and cover shifts as necessary for the provision of the service.
