Your new role
As our new Principal Civil Engineer, you will join a high performing, multi-disciplinary project team delivering client value and innovative solutions in the energy transition sector. We strive to improve the efficiency and sustainability of power generation plants, whether these are new-build or existing assets, including a range of low-carbon and renewable power generation, energy storage, and hydrogen projects. We also support the wider Ramboll business in the UK and internationally.
Your key responsibilities
* Preparation of feasibility studies, conceptual / detail designs, and contributions to associated reports.
* Technical evaluation and clarification of tenders, and preparation of technical specifications and schedules for inclusion in tender submissions.
* Reviewing contractors design submissions in accordance with contract specifications, applicable standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
* Preparing structural & civil design calculations and associated drawings
* Supervising and mentoring junior team members, encouraging them to contribute their ideas and supporting their initiatives to improve how we deliver our services.

About you

* Relevant Engineering Degree, Chartered Engineer (IEng, CEng, MICE, MIStructE)
* Demonstrable and measurable experience involving large scale, EPC type construction projects.
* Understands the Owners Engineer relationship and compliance with internal and client-specific tools and processes.
* High IT literacy, together with experience in using relevant, industry standard engineering design and analysis software packages.
* Superior communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent coordination and time management skills to meet project deadlines when working as part of a global team or on individual assignments.
* Being willing and able to mentor / support less experienced engineers.
