We are currently looking for an Electrical Supervisor to cover the West Mids area, working hours are 7am – 3pm, company van is provided.
Responsibilities
* General Electrical duties. Install, Test, Maintain and examination of all current carrying equipment up to 1000v ac, 1200v dc.
* Work on HV systems to 11000v under the direct guidance and supervision of ECS qualified SAP and AP
* Safe working knowledge of ECS “Permit to work “ system
* Installation of Electrical equipment such as MCC panels, motors, control equipment inc all Electrically operated fixed and portable equipment
* Selection and erection of cable handling systems
* Fault finding on Electrical equipment
* Works can be varied and at times may be required to undertake other duties such as assisting Mechanical or Civils engineering staff
* Responsibility for the use of a company van
* Will work away from home on occasions when travelling is not in the best interest of the company, (this will tend to be Monday – Friday, weekends back home)
* Implement all of the company’s rules or procedures within the Health and Safety Policy that are appropriate to the activities being undertaken.
* Understand and sign onto all CPP/RAMS on Site and follow Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements and rules on Site.
* Always think Safety in mind and look after yourself and your colleagues.
* Wear all appropriate PPE.
Skills & Experience
* Electrical apprenticeship or level 3 Electrical qualification as minimum
* Confined Space trained (Current) (Desirable)
* CSCS JIB Card holder
* Lifting operations qualified (CPCS) (Desirable)
* 2391 Test and Inspection (desirable but not essential)
* First Aid (Desirable)
* Health and Safety trained (IOSH) (Desirable)
* HV Qualified, assessed and trained
* SMSTS qualified (desirable but not essential)

Job purpose: To conduct electrical engineering operations to the highest possible standard of quality, efficiency and with minimal wastage. To ensure a provision of a safe working environment for all colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
– Performing Inspections: Regularly inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
– Diagnosing Problems: Troubleshooting electrical malfunctions and identifying the root causes of issues, whether they are reactive or part of planned maintenance.
– Repairing Faults: Carrying out repairs on electrical systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely.
– Responding to Emergencies: Reacting promptly to emergency calls and resolving electrical issues to minimise downtime and maintain safety.
– Collaboration: Working closely with other members of the maintenance team, as well as with engineers from other disciplines, to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve complex issues.
– Communication: Maintaining clear and open communication with stakeholders, including colleagues, supervisors, clients, and contractors, regarding maintenance activities, progress, and any potential issues.
– Compliance with Regulations: Ensuring that all maintenance activities adhere to relevant health and safety regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements.
– Implementing Preventive Maintenance: Following scheduled maintenance plans to perform routine checks, servicing, and replacements to prevent breakdowns and prolong the lifespan of electrical equipment.
– Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, replacements, and tests, to track the performance and condition of electrical systems over time.
– Emergency Response Planning: Participating in the development and implementation of emergency response plans to effectively handle electrical emergencies and minimise risks to personnel and property.
– Any other duties assigned in line with the scope and seniority of the role

Essential
– Specific skill-based qualification to level 3 or above, OR, have 5 years field based experience
– Experience of 3 phase systems / equipment
– 18TH edition
Desirable
– Ideally an NVQ or equivalence in the core role
– Have additional field based skill qualifications
– 2391 Test and Inspection
– Health & Safety First Aid (3 day)
– Confined Space Trained.
– Experience working with water control assets on rivers and waterways.
Further Aspects of the role
