Logistics Coordinator As QuidelOrtho continues to grow, we are seeking to appoint a Logistics Coordinator to join our Logistics department in Pencoed on a permanent basis. This role will work a standard work week. About QuidelOrtho, Pencoed: QuidelOrtho has been manufacturing products in South Wales for over 40 years. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, based in Pencoed, employs over 500 people who are involved in the manufacture and supply of clinical laboratory and immunohematology products to sites across the globe. Our Pencoed team manufacture a large menu of immunohematology products used in transfusion medicine; in addition to a large menu of immunoassay products encompassing a range of disease categories. On site we have a range of functions operating globally & locally. All our employees are working towards one common goal, to help save and improve lives through diagnostics. Your new role: As a Logistics Coordinator at QuidelOrtho you will arrange the collection and transportation of finished product to the distribution centres and required locations. What You’ll Be Doing: Assist in planning and executing the most efficient, cost effective, time sensitive, method of distribution for all deliverables. Early identification of variations to plan, highlighting corrective actions to the Master Production Scheduler or the Planning Manager. Arrange export shipments worldwide via Freight Forwarders and other third-party providers by air, road, sea and courier, supporting all regulatory and customs requirements and opening appropriate channels of communications. Liaise with Government bodies in relation to licenses and certification requirements. Maintain appropriate daily/ weekly/ monthly reporting mechanisms to measure, monitor and control, improving performance against agreed Operational targets. Communication with contacts within other departments attendance of production and quality related meetings. Ensures that all activities are carried out in compliance with all regulations and laws governing business and quality operations (QRS/GMP, ISO, etc.). Responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, national, international and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance. Perform other work-related duties as assigned. What You’ll Need to Succeed: 2-5 years relevant operational experience in a related industry or function. Detailed knowledge of operational activities within assigned work centre. Ability to work as part of a team, and to gain cooperation and consensus with the work group. Experience of working as a Logistics Operator in a similar industry, or proven, well-developed experience in the Material Management Team. Ability to perform basic problem solving and employing ethical thinking when making decisions. Microsoft office experience essential (Including Excel). Hardworking, reliable with good attendance and timekeeping. Flexible towards overtime. Ability to communicate verbally with all members of the operational team, outside the team. Ability to deal with complex processes and systems. Strong ability to work within preset limits in consultation with group leader, using discretion and flexibility to achieve objectives. Knowledge and understanding of HR policies, QuidelOrtho products, Quality systems and HSE requirements.
