At Smart Dental Academy, we are expanding and have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and highly motivated individual to join our family.
We have recently revamped our training model, leading to the split of the “Tutor/Assessor” role into two separate roles: “Tutor” and “Assessor.” Tutors will predominantly teach in one of our four academies located in Blackburn, our new academy in Preston, and two in Manchester. Assessors will visit learners in practice primarily within their own area, but may travel throughout the same four areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching and mentoring apprentices studying the Level 3 Dental Nurse Extended Diploma and Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics.
The tutor post will require you to plan and deliver teaching and learning that engages and challenges learners to develop new skills, behaviors, and knowledge in a classroom-based environment. As an assessor, you will be required to visit learners in practice to carry out workplace observations and performance reviews throughout the Northwest of England, so a full driver’s license is essential. You may be required to cover both roles to meet the needs of the business.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Dental Nurse with at least 5 years of experience in the role and be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC). They will hold a relevant assessor's award (TAQA/A1/CAVA) and tutoring (AET) qualification or be working towards them. We may consider this as a trainee post; full support will be provided, though the cost of both courses will be the responsibility of the candidate.
IMPORTANT - Should you wish to be considered as a trainee, please attach a cover letter explaining why you would like to become a tutor/assessor; applications will not be considered without this.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication, organizational, IT, and administrative skills, along with excellent time management skills.
The position is full-time – Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00.
