Accounts Payable Governance Analyst
Salary: Circa £31,000
Accounts Payable are responsible for processing invoice payments for our Indirect and Direct supplier spend as well as processing Staff Personal Expense claims.
The Accounts Payable Governance Analyst role is responsible for completing assessments of Accounts Payable controls processes, using process walkthroughs, quality assurance sample checking principles, and data analysis. You will need to understand as part of these assessments if the controls are operating as documented, recording and remediating any potential process risks, issues, and control gaps/improvements.
A bit about the job:
You will need to lead Internal and External Audit reviews of the Accounts Payable processes, providing process walkthroughs to demonstrate process controls and coordinate supporting evidence where required. The role will require you to review and maintain Accounts Payable process and data governance documentation to ensure operational process steps, risks, and controls are documented accurately. You will support Accounts Payable change activity by reviewing proposed process changes to ensure appropriate risks and controls are considered prior to delivery.
The role involves deputising for the Accounts Payable Governance Manager, which includes taking responsibility for escalations, facilitating and attending Operational Management and Process Forum meetings to provide detailed updates and acting as a subject matter expert on behalf of Accounts Payable.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Self-motivated and inquisitive with regards to processes and systems, with good attention to detail
* Strong understanding of P2P and AP processes, systems, and best practices
* Excellent communication skills and experience dealing with people at various levels
* Strong focus on risk and controls with experience in Operational Governance/Risk and Control Management
* Experience with Microsoft Visio, Oracle Financials, KIOSK, Ariba, and Excel with the ability to analyze data
