About the job
Salary: 20 hours per week = £12,987 - £13,191. 30 hours per week = £19,481 - £19,787
Enhancements: Weekend working - Time & a half, Bank Holidays - Double time & Night enhancement (8pm - 10pm shifts)
Working Pattern: Part time position - one role of 20 hours per week, one of 30 hours per week (both waking nights)
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Ball Tree Croft, Lancing

About Ball Tree Croft
Ball Tree Croft is a registered residential care home providing person-centred care and support for up to 15 people over the age of 18 who have a learning disability. It has four bedrooms where people can have short breaks.
An important part of what we do is enabling and encouraging people to be independent and make choices about their day-to-day lives. From what colour they have on their bedroom wall, to riding a bike, going to work, or future planning within the service (their home), we always ensure people are supported to explore opportunities. For example, we now have People Ambassadors who represent the voice of the people using our service.

Key Skills: (These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)
* Ability to build relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds, and ensure their views are heard and their needs are met.
* Good organisational/ prioritising skills, can co-ordinate a variety of tasks and work as part of a team.
* Adapts communication to the needs of the individual - e.g. those who might be less able to express themselves and understand non-verbal communication.
* Recognises the purpose for behaviours that others may find challenging, and be able to respond appropriate and in line with the Positive Behaviour Support guidance.
* Able to interpret written material and create clear written reports.
* Assessing and recognising situations that need to be escalated to seniors and /line managers.
Qualifications and/ experience:
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills, in order to record and document activities in the provider plans.
* Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support and their rights as an individual.
* Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling - Desirable
* NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification - Desirable
* Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or are vulnerable - Desirable
* Previous experience of running group activities - Desirable
