Permanent, Part Time (30 hours per week) Please note that we do not currently offer any Tier 2 sponsorship About the role The JRHT Landscapes department plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the outdoor spaces for the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trusts portfolio of assets and communities we manage. Our primary goal is to create, preserve and manage safe, attractive and functional green spaces for our residents while promoting well-being, community engagement, and sustainability. We’re seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Gardener to join our team to maintain and enhance garden areas, apply pesticides and herbicides safely and in accordance with best practices and assist with landscape design and implementation for new or existing garden projects. You’ll maintain and care for garden equipment ensuring it is in good working condition, monitor garden health and provide recommendations for pest control, disease management, and plant care and maintain records of plant varieties, garden maintenance schedules, and any issues affecting plant health. This hands-on role is about providing great outdoor spaces for our residents, tenants and the wider community to enjoy. About you You’ll hold a Level 2 qualification in Horticulture or have equivalent practical experience in gardening and landscaping (minimum 2 years). With proven experience in garden maintenance, plant care, and landscape management, you’ll have strong knowledge of horticultural practices, including planting, pruning, pest management and soil health. Able to work independently and as part of a team, you’ll be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and handle physical tasks. You’ll have experience with garden machinery and tools, a commitment to safety standards and good communication skills, able to follow instructions. You’ll have a passion for horticulture and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that our outdoor spaces are maintained to the highest standard.
