We have a great opportunity to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Rye Hill, working as a Vocational Curriculum Manager. This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Rye Hill Prison, located in the rural setting of Warwickshire, is a significant institution within the UK prison system. As a Category B prison, it primarily houses adult male inmates, including those serving long sentences and those convicted of serious offences. The prison's regime, facilities, and support services are designed to address the diverse needs of its population, promoting rehabilitation and reducing reoffending rates.
What the role entails
As the Vocational Curriculum Manager at HMP Rye Hill, you will be responsible for the for the day to day running, management and delivery of a curriculum area within the prison establishment. You will be responsible for the management and development of your curriculum area(s) contributing to improving standards of learner progress and achievement. You will be responsible for the line management of our delivery colleagues in this area and support in the continual improvement of this this education provision to ensure our teaching methods are dynamic, our materials are engaging and that our learners get the most out of our provision. The following qualifications are listed as essential on the role profile. However, there might be options available for applicants with a suitable skillset and level of experience to apply and complete qualifications while in-post:
Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
Degree or equivalent (including equivalent life / career experience)
Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and NumeracyWe are also interested in speaking to individuals with the following qualifications. These are listed as desirable, but are not essential, as listed on the role profile:
TAQA Internal Verifier Award / V1 or equivalent
Level 4 or equivalent subject specialism or vocational qualification
