Transport Planning & Mobility Solutions at Jacobs is one of the most successful teams of its nature in the UK and Ireland, with a varied client base, strong local pipeline of work and offers support delivery to project teams across the globe. Our regional team is involved in a range of exciting and innovative projects covering all elements of transport planning including traffic engineering, highways development management traffic modelling, economic appraisal, active modes, public transport, policy & strategy formation and business case development. We are looking for experienced Senior / Principal level Traffic Engineers to complement our growing team across the South West and South Wales. You will ideally have experience in active travel and urban street design with knowledge of the appropriate design guidance and standards such as LTN 1/20 and DMRB. You will also preferably have experience in design stage feasibility and undertaking concept and detailed design. Our local teams get involved in a range of exciting and innovative projects covering active travel, streets design, traffic engineering and local junction design / modelling. We are particularly interested in candidates who can wish to develop and expand their experience of the progression of active travel and mass transit, transformational placemaking and traffic management solutions. In project delivery you will manage the outing work from junior members of the team and assisting in their technical development. This role will allow you to pursue relevant business and technical training to support your career development as well as the freedom to grow your network and develop innovative solutions to chase new opportunities. This role can be based on a Hybrid basis from our in our Bristol, Exeter or Cardiff offices We are very happy to discuss part-time and flexible working hours with you Here's what you'll need To be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline Have achieved or be working towards a relevant professional accreditation Extensive experience in the Traffic Engineering field with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects, particularly in an urban environment and with experience in cycle priority and traffic signal design desirable Experience in applying design standards, that may include the Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, LTN 1/20 or Local Authority Street Design guidance Technical aptitude and experience in design and modelling software packages particularly AutoCad and LinSig To be able to competently liaise and communicate with clients To be able to manage tasks using appropriate program, budget and quality controls Our culture Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion and diversity.
