Our client, a precision engineering leader, is seeking an experienced and skilled XYZ Turner / Conventional Turner to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about machining excellence and continuous improvement in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program, set, and operate XYZ lathes and other machines within the cell.
2. Ensure process control during manufacturing to maintain the highest standards.
3. Apply innovative methods to improve manufacturing techniques.
4. Train on new technologies, such as XYZ lathes and CMM equipment, as needed.
5. Manufacture medium-to-complex parts to exact customer specifications.
6. Conduct quality checks and inspect own work to ensure compliance with standards.
7. Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards in the workplace.
8. Adhere to preventative maintenance schedules for all machinery.
9. Accurately record and update information related to manufacturing processes.
10. Support and mentor team members to foster a collaborative environment.
About You:
Essential Experience and Skills:
1. At least 3 years’ experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
2. Proficiency in programming, setting, and operating machine tools.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of various materials and manufacturing applications.
4. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings with a high level of understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances.
5. Demonstrated commitment to quality and process improvement.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications:
1. XYZ Proto Track programming experience.
2. Toolmaker experience in conventional milling and turning.
3. Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
4. Security clearance.
