Senior Grid Engineer

We're working expansively with a growing consultancy in the wider renewables sector, who are looking to grow their technical team out significantly throughout 2024. They have recently won a new programme of work, which has seen them grow their technical function out.
The consultancy works throughout the entire project lifecycle, working on early stage developments and advisory through to asset management and recommissioning stages. They have a global reach, allowing you to work on projects across the world.
They've grown significantly since their inception in 2013, this has been through both organic growth and acquisitions. This has led them to be able to support across offshore and onshore renewables to a high standard. They recently celebrated their decade birthday as a team!

They have 3 core technical teams: the power systems function, cabling group, and their grid team which this role would be a part of.
This role is joining the leading internal team, alongside two juniors, a principal and Head of Grid. You'll be working with some of the leading developers and IPPs in the space to design their connection agreements and ensure key milestones are hit in processes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing relationships with TOs and DNOs to work on gaining both transmission and distribution level connection agreements.
2. Designing connection offers and agreements for various renewable projects.
3. Supporting clients on their grid connection offers and through the process.
4. Mentoring junior members of the team.
5. Understanding the UK grid connection processes at both a transmission and distribution level.
For this role, a background in electrical engineering and knowledge of the UK grid connection process is essential. Work from with or within DNOs would be ideal.
