Job title: Lead Business Analyst
Salary: c. £65,000 per annum (depends on experience)
Working hours: 35 hours a week, flexible between 8:00am to 6:00pm
Reporting to: Head of Business Analysis & Technical Writing

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
On a daily basis, as a Lead Business Analyst you will be responsible for understanding the business goals that are to be addressed by technology-based initiatives and assisting in the delivery of projects that support Intersoft in achieving these goals. Your key toolkit will include requirements & business analysis and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Your drive to understand the real needs behind projects will enable you to ensure that fit-for-purpose solutions are delivered on time and in full within our dynamic environment.
As an experienced Lead BA, you will excel at setting and meeting the expectations of your client-base and leading the business analysis activity on large, complex projects. Working in an agile environment, working with project teams to elicit requirements and document them as user stories with supporting artefacts, using JIRA to monitor progress.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the business analysis activity on large, complex projects and across multiple projects.
* Lead teams of BAs to elicit functional, procedural, process and system requirements.
* Conduct high level analysis of backlog items and customer change requests, ensuring the scope and requirements are fully understood.
* Provide project support for BAs by advising on epic and user story breakdown, supporting requirements analysis.
* Review the work produced by BAs and provide feedback to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables.
* Conduct requirements elicitation and analysis, and document requirements as user stories.
* Produce diagrams and other artefacts as needed to support user stories.
* Excel in both high-level and detailed requirements analysis.
* Comfortable working with ambiguity, high-level project objectives and vague scope.
* Lead the Discovery phase and scoping activities for potential projects.
* Provide the link between the customer, development team and any third-party regarding software functionality.
* Build detailed knowledge of projects and Intersoft systems to SME level.
* Communicate complex topics to a range of audiences in a clear and simple manner.
* Build trusted relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
* Support Head of Business Analysis & Technical Writing in managing the BA team.
* Deputise for Head of Business Analysis & Technical Writing as required.
* Proactively share knowledge and experience with BAs.
* Drive the adoption of business analysis best practices within the BA team.
* Identify and drive opportunities for improvements to BA team processes and templates.
* Support BAs with resolving issues and challenges.
* Take a coaching approach to supporting the team.
* Support in training and mentoring of Junior Business Analysts.

Minimum Requirements:
* Demonstrable experience in a leadership role.
* Extensive business analysis experience on large projects and programs.
* Extensive experience of both high-level scoping activities and detailed requirements analysis.
* Strong experience working on feasibility and scoping activities for new or potential projects.
* Excellent knowledge in a wide variety of business analysis tools and techniques.
* Experience working in Agile environments and following the SCRUM framework.
* Excellent facilitation and requirements elicitation skills.
* Demonstrable experience documenting requirements for complex projects.
* Demonstrable evidence of analysing and documenting complex business processes.
* Extensive experience of defining requirements and user stories in a digital environment.
* Experience working with APIs and on API integration projects.
* Experience analysing API specifications and swagger documents to elicit requirements.
* Experience using JIRA to write user stories and manage product backlogs.
* Strong experience writing acceptance criteria in Gherkin format.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to communicate complex topics to a range of audiences in a clear and simple manner.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Comfortable challenging senior stakeholders and managing conflict between stakeholders.
* Strong experience acting as a key point of contact for external stakeholders.
* Experience of coaching and mentoring more junior team members.
* Comfortable providing constructive feedback to more junior team members.
* Previous experience in the logistics industry strongly preferred.
