Job overview
The post holder will be working primarily in the Immunology Infusion Unit, providing immunoglobulin replacement therapy and other treatments to patients with immune deficiency. Duties will include assessment of patients, venepuncture, cannulation, and drug administration, and general care of the patient. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the unit, ensuring paperwork and medication is prepared, managing stock, and organising appointments.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Band 5 Registered Nurse within the Immunodeficiency and Allergy Centre for Wales. The team provides a specialised national service in Immunology and Allergy, with responsibility across all health boards. The successful candidate will provide professional and clinical patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team including consultants, nursing, and research team members.
Prior experience in Immunology is desirable but not essential – there will be opportunities for learning both in the workplace and through courses.
The successful candidate may be expected to travel within their role as Immunology and Allergy Registered Nurse.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse
* Current NMC Registration
* Nursing Degree/Diploma
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
* Good basic level of English Language demonstrated through effective written and verbal communication skills
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a nursing environment
* Depending on previous experience the candidate may be expected to supervise junior staff
* Awareness of the structure and organisation of the wider NHS
